How long has ODTC been in existence?
ODTC has been in operation since 1975.
What kinds of children do you serve?
ODTC specializes in the treatment of children and young adults who are dually diagnosed with developmental disabilities and emotional disturbances. In addition, ODTC has specific expertise in dealing with a variety of low incidence syndrome disorders, rare genetic disorders, seizure disorders, and other neurologically handicapping conditions.
What is the average length of stay?
Average length of stay is 18 months to 2 years.
How do you measure the success of your program?
One measure of success is that 90% of the children we serve leave our program and go to less restrictive environments, such as less restrictive residential settings, foster homes, group homes, or their own homes.
What happens if a child referred to you is not appropriate for your program?
If our programs are not appropriate to meet the child’s needs, we work with the family, guardian, and/or referring agency to facilitate a placement in a program that is better able to meet the child’s needs. In this way, we serve as a resource to referring agencies and families, and we attempt to keep well abreast of other resources available to meet every child’s needs.
What if I don’t have funding for a child’s placement?
ODTC Admissions staff will work with the family and/or guardian to identify possible funding sources, and will work with the family to identify and connect with potential funding/placement resources in their State, County, or local area. |
